VILLA LICIA A MERCATALE
Primo progetto per l’ampliamento del giardino Villa Licia in Mercatale

Il  progetto prevedeva la realizzazione di una serie di interventi volti all’unificazione formale con il progetto già realizzato. L’esistente viale dei cipressi vene utilizzato come un asse di congiunzione fra le varie anime del giardino, all’ingresso un grande cancello colonnato  si pone come una cerniera dalla quale dipartono gli assi distributivi. Il progetto vede il suo punto nodale nella realizzazione di un grande ippodromo ribassato rispetto al livello dell’ingresso, al cui interno e collocato  un  semplicissimo manto erboso fiorito. Al di sotto del piano al livello del viale si cela una struttura ipogea che si affaccia sull’ippodromo.

The project foresaw carrying out a series of measures meant to integrate this plan formally with the earlier one. The existing cypress alley is used to align and link the various garden sections, with a large, entrance gate with columns serving as the junction from which the main distribution axes branch off. The crux of the plan is to create a large racecourse located below the entrance level, inside of which is a simple grassy area with flowers. Below, at the alley level, there is a partially underground structure that looks over the racecourse.
